Will I have to pay up front costs when getting a right to buy mortgage?

Yes there will be costs involved in the right to buy process, these are as follows. If you take out a mortgage there will be several costs these are the lenders arrangement fees, valuations and in some cases mortgage brokers fees. You may need to pay a deposit. You will need a solicitor to look after any of the legal sides of the buying process of the home. There will also be stamp duty to pay on the right to buy property, this is payable once when you purchase the property. This will be a percentage of the Market value of the property. If you wish to value your home your self you will need to pay for a surveyor, the cost for this may vary depending on the surveyor and the type of valuation you will require. Finally there is also a cost involved when you register your right to buy property in your name at the land registry, and other property searches. Our Mortgage customers are reminded that they should plan ahead and look at the extra costs that will be needed now that you intend being a home owner, costs such as repairs, service charge, decorating and improvements. On top of these you will also have to make regular repayments of your Mortgage, or your home may be repossessed if you fail to do so.
